Itinerary

Arrival - Colombo

Private transfer to a luxury colonial-style hotel in Colombo. An evening guided walk through historic Colombo ending with sunset at Galle Face Green, where the colonial Government buildings and the Indian Ocean arrive in the same view.

Colombo Colonial Heritage

A full day exploring Colombo’s layered colonial heritage: the Old Parliament Building, the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct, the National Museum, and the hidden streets that connect the city’s various historical chapters. Evening tuk-tuk journey through the city’s more vibrant neighbourhoods as the day closes.

Colombo to Negombo

Short drive to Negombo for an exploration of its colonial churches, historic canal network, and traditional fishing community before a sunset lagoon boat ride through the quiet waterways. Overnight in a boutique colonial-style villa.

Negombo to Habarana - Dambulla

Drive inland through the dry zone landscape to Dambulla Cave Temple: five chambers of extraordinary painted murals and 153 Buddha statues representing 22 centuries of unbroken artistic tradition. Check-in at a luxury eco-retreat near Habarana overlooking forest and lake.

Sigiriya - Dawn Climb and Village Lunch

Early morning climb of Sigiriya Rock Fortress at its most beautiful hour. An afternoon village experience through paddy fields with a hosted local lunch in a family setting. Optional gentle cycling through the surrounding countryside.

Minneriya Safari and Evening Yoga

A safari day at Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, timed for the seasonal elephant gathering when hundreds of animals converge on the reservoir lakebed simultaneously. Picnic lunch in the park. Evening yoga or meditation overlooking the ancient rock landscape.

Sigiriya to Kandy

Scenic drive to Kandy and a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic for the afternoon or evening puja. An evening lakeside walk through the colonial city’s most atmospheric streets. Boutique heritage hotel.

Kandy - Botanical Gardens and Artisan Quarter

Morning visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya followed by an exploration of local markets, artisan workshops, and the colonial-era streets that give Kandy its distinct highland character. Afternoon at leisure.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya - Tea Bungalow

Drive into the tea country and check-in at an elegant tea bungalow within the working estates above Nuwara Eliya. A planter-led estate walk and curated tea tasting session as the afternoon cools. Evening by the fireplace or in the garden.

Nuwara Eliya - Tea Country Days

Gentle plantation walks or light cycling through the rolling estate landscape. A visit to the Old Post Office and Gregory Lake. A highland high tea experience with panoramic views over the surrounding estates and hills.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella by Scenic Train

Board the iconic highland train from Nanu Oya station to Ella, rated among the world’s most beautiful rail journeys. Visit the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak on arrival. Overnight in a nature lodge surrounded by hill country.

Ella to Galle

Travel to the southern coast and the historic city of Galle. Check-in at a heritage boutique hotel within the fort walls. Sunset walk along the ramparts with the Indian Ocean on three sides.

Galle - Fort, Galleries, and Farewell

A morning of walking or cycling through the fort’s charming streets: galleries, cafes, artisan boutiques, and the lace-making studios that have continued in Galle for centuries. Optional beach or spa in the afternoon. Farewell dinner by the coast.

Galle to Colombo - Departure

Scenic coastal drive to Colombo with optional quick shopping and cafe stop. Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
