Itinerary

Arrival - Negombo

Transfer to a boutique lagoon-side hotel in Negombo. An evening at leisure by the beach or lagoon, with optional kid-friendly kayaking through the mangrove channels before dinner.

Negombo - Lagoon and Fishing Village

Morning lagoon exploration by boat through traditional fishing villages, with hands-on net fishing or a cooking session with a local family. Relaxed afternoon or optional paddleboarding for those who want to be in the water.

Negombo to Sigiriya

Scenic drive to the Cultural Triangle with countryside stops and en route village photography. Evening at leisure at an eco-luxury villa as the landscape and temperature shift into the dry zone.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Village Evening

Sunrise climb of Sigiriya Rock Fortress at the coolest, quietest hour of the day, with the frescoes, the mirror wall, and the summit view all experienced before the heat and the crowd arrive. Optional afternoon village tour and cooking experience. Evening storytelling at the lodge.

Dambulla Cave Temple and Pidurangala

A full morning at Dambulla Cave Temple: five painted chambers, 153 statues, and 22 centuries of Buddhist art explored at a pace that allows the murals to register properly. Optional sunset hike to Pidurangala Rock for the finest external view of Sigiriya.

Sigiriya to Kandy

Drive to Kandy through the spice garden foothills with a stop at a working spice estate. Evening visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and the first Kandy Lake walk.

Kandy - Botanical Gardens and Cultural Immersion

Morning visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, one of Asia’s finest tropical collections, followed by an optional cooking class or cultural immersion activity. Evening Kandyan dance performance at the cultural hall.

Kandy to Ella by Scenic Train

The highland railway from Kandy to Ella through tea estate canopy, stone viaducts, and valley viewpoints. Check-in at a mountain lodge with terrace views. Evening walk through the surrounding tea estates.

Ella - Nine Arches, Little Adam's Peak, Ziplining

Morning visit to the Nine Arches Bridge and a family-paced hike to Little Adam’s Peak, accessible for most ages and rewarding for all of them at the summit. Optional ziplining above the jungle canopy in the afternoon for those who want it.

Ella to Yala via Ravana Falls

A late morning departure from Ella via Ravana Falls, where the 25-metre cascade creates a natural pool at the roadside that is swimmable in the dry season. Evening leisure at the Yala safari lodge.

Yala National Park Safari

Morning or afternoon safari in Yala’s Block 1 with a specialist naturalist guide. Leopards, elephant herds, sloth bears, and the extraordinary birdlife of the park’s coastal lagoon zone. Rest of the day at the lodge pool or in the surrounding nature.

Yala to Galle

Drive west to Galle and check-in at a coastal hotel. An afternoon of beach relaxation by the Indian Ocean after the safari intensity of the previous two days.

Galle Region - Mirissa or Unawatuna

A beach day at Mirissa or Unawatuna. Optional whale watching if the season is right, beginner surfing for those who want an introduction to the wave, or simply a day of sun, sea, and the easy south coast atmosphere.

Galle Fort and Colombo

A morning visit to Galle Fort with a guided heritage walk through the colonial streets and ramparts. Drive to Colombo for a final evening. Optional shopping and dinner in the capital.

Colombo - Departure

Morning shopping or cafe time in Colombo before transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
